Amy Cann was born 12/1/1932 as Annie Mae Robinson, her first marriage to Robinson yielded one son Larry Orsati Pickett born February 12, 1956 and passed February 10, 1978 after a serious illness. Her second son Michael Leo Cann was born of her union with Clemmie Cann on July 26,1967 and passed together with his mother on the official date of July 12, 2025.

Amy Cann was one of two daughters of Rev. Robinson and his wife, a devout Christian family. She excelled in elementary and secondary school. She went on to matriculate from Wilberforce College and eventually moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She gained employment with the St. Louis Public Schools where she served as a faithful and respected teacher at Soldan High School in until her retirement.
