David L. Jones

February 13, 1957 — June 8, 2025

David Lysander was born on February 13, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Bert and Mattie L. Jones. He graduated from Charles Sumner High School in 1975. During his time at Sumner, David was a proud member of the tennis team, which won the Missouri State Championship.

Shortly after graduation, David enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and attended the Coast Guard Training School in Petaluma, California. Upon completing his training, he was stationed at the USCG Base Station in Kodiak, Alaska, where he served honorably and received an honorable discharge upon completion of his service.

After his military service, David returned to St. Louis and began working at Busch Stadium. It was there that he met and married Joann Holman in 1991. She preceded him in death after a lengthy illness.

In May 2000, David met Deborah Brown, whom he later married. The couple celebrated 25 years of marriage on May 26, 2025.

David had a lifelong love for sports and excelled both athletically and academically from a young age. He made a lasting impact on his teammates, friends, and everyone who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Deborah, and a host of family and friends.
