Jill Ruth Stojeba

(1966-2025)

They will see Her face, and Her name will be on theirforeheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the lightof a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give themlight. And they will reign for ever and ever. Revelation 22:4-5Jill Ruth Stojeba began a new chapter in her faith journey when she reunitedwith her Heavenly Father on the morning of October 16, 2025. She wascalled Home unexpectedly while doing what she felt Called to do; serveothers without distinction. Jill is predeceased in death by her mother Barbara(nee Schaffer) Stojeba and survived by her son, Nicholas Sciuto; father,Joseph Stojeba, siblings Todd Stojeba and Wendy (Larry) Schneider and nieceLelah.Jill was born in St. Louis, Missouri and baptized at Chapel of the CrossLutheran in North St. Louis County. She attended Hazelwood West HighSchool and enjoyed exploring interests in visual art and journalism.Drawn to the service industry as a teenager, Jill began her career working asa catering assistant in St. Louis, Missouri. In her youth, Jill’s interest incooking was rewarded when her parents and she agreed that she would cookfor the family a few times a week. Early stages of Jill’s experiments wereexactly that . . .early. After surviving an attempt to make Beer Cheese Soup, mounds of dirty dishes, and sometimes unusually interesting menuselections, her family eventually came around to appreciating Jill’s passionand the works of her labor.Jill rotated service through most of St. Louis’ highly regarded Country Clubsand relished sharing tales about the success of one dish or another.Jill transferred Church membership to the St. Louis Archidiose prior towelcoming the arrival of her son, Nicholas. Nick immediately became theapple of Jill’s eye and no matter the season of their relationship, Nick was(and remains) held tightly to her soul. Their relationship was a driving forcefor Jill’s appreciation and adoration of all of God’s children.Jill performed work duties with unbridled energy. After prayerful thought anddecades in the food service industry, Jill forfeited full-time work with this firstlove to spend the final decades of her life serving as a nanny and caregiverfor elderly and/or patients with dementia.

Jill’s first hero was her Dad, Joseph. She was impressed with his work ethicand did her best to match it. Jill started her own self-funded agency calledMissionaries for Life and was one of the first to solicit food leftovers fromCountry Clubs and/or major supermarkets and redistribute them to those inneed. When Jill lived in North County, it was common for someone to knockon her door asking for a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread, etc.; Jill always hadsomething to give.Jill’s second hero was her brother, Todd. From birth, Jill depended on him. From serving as a positive role model, helping her move from residence toresidence or simply picking her up when an unreliable vehicle broke down,he was always there for her.One of Jill’s proudest moments was being invited by the St. Louis Coalition forLife to travel to Washington D.C. where she marched in support of Pro-Lifeefforts and educated and advised congress members. It came as no surprisethat one of Jill’s final selfless acts was to sign the Organ Donation Card whileat the Department of Motor Vehicles. As a result, Jill was able to enhanceand/or give life to others.Jill’s treasured relationships with her four grandparents motivated her finalrequest to be buried near one of them. Following a moving Celebration ofLife at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in November, 2025, Jill was laid to restnext to her grandfather Stanley Frank Stojeba at Saint Charles MemorialGardens in St. Charles, Missouri.Contributions made in honor of Jill’s life may be made to Birthright St. Louis(birthrightstl.org) or the St. Louis Alliance for Life (www.coalitionlife.org).Jill is finally at peace and residing in the room her Heavenly Father preparedfor her.
