It’s hard to find the words to say goodbye to someone who shaped my world so profoundly. My grandmother, Pearl, has passed away, and with her passing, a piece of my heart goes too.
Pearl was wise in ways that can’t be taught, wisdom that showed not just in her words, but in the way she lived. She moved through life with strength, grace, and an unwavering sense of purpose. She worked hard, often quietly, and overcame more than most people will ever know. And she did it all with dignity.
I am endlessly proud to be her granddaughter. Proud of everything she accomplished. Proud of the example she set. Proud of how she taught me, by living it, what it means to carry yourself with pride and integrity, to meet adversity with courage, and to love without conditions.
The strength I have, the resilience I lean on, the values I hold, they come from her.
Her spirit lives on and it always will.
I will defend her legacy. I will carry her name with honor. And I will ensure that the lessons she passed down continue to shape the world through me. That’s my promise.
Rest peacefully, Pearl You gave me the roots and the wings.
Forever together and together forever.
