Timothy Lamar Travis was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Gloria Jean Edwards and the late McKinley Travis Sr.
He attended Job Corps early in life, then went on to Beaumont High School before graduating from Normandy High School in 2000.
Tim’s love for his children was like no other. He earned the nickname Tim “Toolman” Travis because of his passion for working on cars and fixing just about anything. He was also known for his willingness to help others in any way he could.
He is survived by five children: Tishae Travis, Takiyaha Matthews, Timothy Travis Jr., Terrell Austin, and Treasurenae Travis; two grandchildren: Trinity and Tru’Mariee; his mother, Gloria Jean Edwards; and five siblings: Michael Montgomery Jr. (Shante Montgomery) of Kansas City, McKinley Travis Jr., Carla Travis, Shamel Anderson, and Kenyatta Travis of California. Tim is also survived by his uncle, Lynn Edwards.
